"Cupola Reflections"

This scene is in downtown Nashua NH. I sat in my chair by the river on a beautiful sunny day and sketched away. A really enjoyable session. Thanks for visiting!

"Across the Railroad Trestle"

This is an old railroad trestle that is just a few miles from home. I set up right along the tracks and proceeded to sketch away. Just to the right leads down to the Merrimack River with a nice beach and nearby rocky outcrop. It was an enjoyable session. Thanks for visiting!

"Respite from the Din"

I sat on a rocky outcrop by the riverside and sketched this nice cozy scene in a quiet corner. I am sitting under a railroad trestle and a small island is just up river a bit where the river splits in two around the island. Very beautiful area. Enjoy!

"Silo in Hollis"

I sat by the side of the road and sketched this nice country scene. The road was rather busy and it was pretty hot out but there was a breeze and I enjoyed myself. This silo is across the street from a huge corn field. The charcoal stick I had was thick and blunt on the end so it was rather difficult to get finer lines. I worked it all out. Thanks for visiting!

"Forest Scene"

I sat down by the brook to sketch this piece. It was later in the day with lots of humidity and bugs. I toughed it out and came up with a nice piece. I'm happy enough with the results. Thanks for visiting!

"Tranquility"

A nice, peaceful scene of a still pond on a bright, sunny day. I punched the color up a bit and kept the composition simple. Thanks for visiting!

"Into The Forest"

A late afternoon scene in the shadows with the bright, colorful light in the sky and clouds. I am very happy with the final result. I like how all the different trees have their own character, colors and light. Has kind of an old world feel. Thanks for visiting!

"Jesus The Christ"

This is from the movie 'The Passion of the Christ" with Jim Caviezel as Jesus. I found this to be a very dramatic piece and thoroughly enjoyed creating it.

SOLD

"Kelly"

This is my first attempt at using a toned paper. The paper color is tan but it looks gray in the photo. It was quite a challenge rendering her subtle smile and captivating eyes. Thanks for visiting!

SOLD

"Tauriel"

This is the character 'Tauriel' played by actress Evangeline Lilly in the movie "The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug". I tried to capture the soft look in her eyes. I really enjoyed drawing this piece. Thanks for visiting!

"A Time to Rest"

I sketched this poetic piece from the warmth of my car on a cold winter day. The variety in the tree was very interesting. I used vine charcoal, which is very soft, to lay in the basic shapes, then I used my kneaded eraser to help refine the shapes. Enjoy!

"Elisa"

A portrait of a friend done with charcoal on bristol vellum. This one was quite a challenge and is a bit overworked. But the end result is very satisfactory to me. I believe I got her likeness quite well. Thanks for visiting!

SOLD

"Bob"

An early drawing of a friend. Not a bad likeness but I wasn't happy overall with the result. It was a good attempt for my skills at the time. Thanks for visiting!

"Dusk by the River"

Another plein air sketch along the Merrimack river Now I am looking the other way downstream. There were people on the rocks fishing and children running around. It was later in the day  so the sun was starting to set. Note the sunshine on the far shore. Vine charcoal on sketch paper. Thanks for visiting!

"Railroad Trestle Bridge"

Another sketch along the Merrimack river. This is on the other side of the bridge. This was sketched on site, en plein air. There were people about fishing and such while I sat on the beach and sketched. A very beautiful area. Vine charcoal on sketch paper. Thanks for visiting!

"Railroad Trestle Bridge II"

What a beautiful area this is along the Merrimack river in Bedford, NH. There is a rocky outcrop that I can sit on and have many views all around. This is a railroad trestle bridge that is still in use. I just recently discovered this area - only a couple miles from my home. Plein air sketch in vine charcoal on sketch paper. Enjoy!

"Denise"

This is a sketch of a friend. It was quite a lot of work to get everything just right. I am happy with the results. This is charcoal on bristol vellum. Thanks for visiting!

SOLD

"Greely Park"

A quick sketch in a local park in Nashua, NH. This was done with brown ink on sketch paper. Just more practice. Enjoy!

"Rachel McAdams"

I've always liked the actress Rachel McAdams. She is very beautiful and a great actress. For some reason this was particularly difficult to do. It took me longer than usual but I am happy with the results! Thanks for visiting!
