"Beauty In The Country"

This is one of my favorite places to visit. It's in New Boston, NH right along Rt 13. I set up my easel right by the riverside and sketched the scene. I did this one all prima. All in one sitting. I like the loose look and the scenery is beautiful. Thanks for visiting!

 "Autumn Splendor"

I painted this from a photo I took of a nice Fall scene in October. I pushed the color a bit but I loved the light and how it played across the grass and lit up the autumn splendor. Thanks for visiting!

"In the Valley"

I found this valley way up north above the White Mountains in New Hampshire. What a beautiful place! This stream was running through it and I found the scenery so spectacular! I painted this on site with a few touch ups in the studio. I really enjoyed painting this piece and I was so happy to find this huge valley. Enjoy!

"Lazy Day"

I really love this area near my home. The park is called Mine Falls  and it covers quite a large area. This section is not visited as much as it's a bit out of the way and not too well known. The river is shallow here and as the sun shines on it you can see all the sparkles. A beautiful place. I wanted a simple, colorful piece where the light was bright and soft. Enjoy!

"Brook Trout Heaven"

I set up right by the riverside and positioned myself looking upriver. The view downriver was beautiful too. The area is right next to a country road with a nice path and a little flat area next to the river to stand for fishing or in my case, to paint. I loved all the colors, the shallow river, and the way the river twisted and turned a bit as it disappeared into the distance. Painted on site with minor touch ups in the studio. "Coffin Pond"

A nice plein air piece painted on site in Sugar Hill, NH. This is a place called Coffin Pond. It was very peaceful and sunny with a beautiful view and wonderful colors. Had a very satisfying painting session. Thanks for visiting! :)

"High Noon"

I headed up north for this piece. A nice, quiet farm called Muster Field Farm in Sutton, NH. It was a perfect day and this scene was out back behind some buildings. Such a perfect day. This is a two hour study that came out quite well. It's simple, with nice colors and easy on the eyes. Thanks for visiting!

"Restful Place"

Another scene on an abandoned farm of a friend of mine. They have since sold the property. There are endless possibilities for motifs at this place. No one is usually around either. I particularly like the bush to the left of the building. I like the colors and values. The background trees aren't bad either. Needs some minor touch ups. Thanks for visiting!

"Across the Field"

I pushed the color on this one and had some fun. I stood out in this field on a kind of road through the grass. I like the tree a lot but I need to shrink the house a bit, fix the 'road' leading to it and work on the background a little more. Anyway, it was a fun experience. Thanks for visiting!

It was a hot and muggy day when I set up in back of this shed. The sun was in and out so it was mostly high overcast. I pushed the color on this one. Needs more work. Thanks for visiting!

"River's Edge"

I joined a few people in Lambert Park in Hooksett, NH for a painting expedition. This is my piece. Was fun painting it and I enjoyed the whole experience. It was quite hot and humid. It was high overcast but the sun tried coming out later with some blue sky and it got really hot then. May need some touchups. Thanks for visiting!

"Long Summer Day"

This is along a stream just off a main street in Jackson, NH. It was an unbelievable day and I enjoyed the experience even though I was very fatigued. A nice colorful scene with a natural opening to look into the distance. Probably will touch it up a bit. Thanks for visiting!

"Spring Sunshine"

I was out in the country in Hollis, NH on a beautiful Spring day. I found this quaint scene bathed in sunshine. I painted this on site (plein air) and finished up in the studio. A very peaceful place. Thanks for visiting!

"Island Near The Shore"

A plein air piece along a highway leading to Millinocket, ME. I spotted this area as I was driving around looking for a motif. I came prepared the next morning all ready to paint and the weather was beautiful! The traffic was a bit daunting whizzing by at 65 mph but I persisted. A little touch up work in the studio and the piece was completed. I added the boats from Monet paintings to give it more interest. Thanks for visiting!

"Hot Summer Afternoon"

I painted this on a beautiful, sunny, summer afternoon. This is a local trail near my home that runs along the Merrimack River. This was completely painted in the open air (plein air). Thanks for visiting!

"Sunny Pastoral"

I found this area while scouting around Jackson, NH. It's right next to a park near a small town center. As soon as I saw the tree and the light I knew I had a beautiful motif. I set up right down in the river bed and proceeded to paint on site. Some more work in the studio and then it's ready for framing. Thanks for visiting!

"Tranquility"

"Ashuelot River"

I found this beautiful spot along the Ashuelot river on a small dirt road just off the main roadway. It was very quiet and peaceful and a perfect spot for painting. I wanted a fairly loose look with fresh color. Thanks for visiting!

"Squash City"

Another piece in the spirit of the harvest season. I originally had an apple in there but I felt like I was squeezing in too much so I removed it. That means only squashes remained hence the title! It was fun painting this piece with all the pure colors that you see. I finished the majority of it in one session, then I worked on refinement the next session. I thought I was done until I noticed I forgot to finish the stems on two of the squashes! Done now! Thanks for visiting!

"My Cup Runneth Over"

This is the final painting in my Psalm 23 series. I wanted to portray a feeling of having plenty but keep the focus on actually drinking from a cup, or glass in this case, even though that isn't exactly what the saying means. It means having abundance that overflows in your life. I like the colors and the look of having had plenty. Thanks for visiting!
