"The Matriarch"

A portrait of the matriarch in my family. I put a lot of care into this piece and it seems to have come out very well. I did the whole piece in vine charcoal which is a little lighter and softer than regular charcoal.  Vine charcoal is very forgiving when it comes to erasing and making changes but it smudges very easily so one must be careful throughout the whole drawing process.
